Things are progressing well in the build-up to the big 'Home' album launch party on Friday 1st October, St. Andrew's in the Square, Glasgow. 8pm. Free Entry.

I can confirm that BBC Young Tradition Winner Shona Mooney (The Shee) will be there to reproduce the fiddling magic that she created on the album, as will Young Tradition finalist Calum Stewart on flutes/whistles. We will also have Wilf Taylor (ex-Capercaillie) on percussion, Stuart Duncan on bass, and Gillian Duncan/Toni Wood on guest vocals. There may also be a few surprise guest musicians!!

And of course, my usual trusted sidekicks, Paul Baird (guitars) and Craig Dunsmore (keyboards) will be there adding the backbone to the band. Where would I be without them??

My two very special guest acts on the evening will be coming from overseas. Tori Mason is a wonderful singer-songwriter and friend from Nashville and Jean Livingstone is the sister of Gavin and Pete from the well-known Scottish folk band band Tonight at Noon- Jean has lived in France for many years and this will be her first 'hometown' gig in 30 years!!

My Celtic Music Radio colleague, and sweet songstress Mary Kathleen Burke will compere the evening, and sing a few songs with Tori and Jean.

I think it will be a fun-filled, emotional evening and I hope to see you all there. And anyone else who may be interested. It's a BIG venue! Please come prepared to sing and be merry!!!!!

I'm also delighted to confirm that 'Home' will be released on the world-famous Greentrax label, and Ian Green will be in attendance at the party.
